Motorcyclists could see longer between bike insurance claims if they choose to opt for the new Yamaha Winter Health Check (YWHC) Plus, launched on December 7th.

The firm's latest campaign will run until February 20th next year and provides customers with a 30-point health check to keep their bike in good condition.

Bike insurance policyholders paying for the check will also receive an oil filter and engine oil change as part of the deal, which costs £79 inclusive of tax.

"Yamaha is very conscious of the fact that its customers want to keep their Yamaha motorcycle or scooter in tip-top condition by receiving the highest level of care and servicing attention and this is where the YWHC Plus comes in," the firm suggests.

During the assessment, if any faults are found, consumers are under no obligation to have them fixed by Yamaha, but those who do have their bikes fixed by the firm will qualify for ten per cent of any parts needed for their machine.

Yamaha suggests the check is suitable not only for riders who plan to carry on using their bikes during the winter, but also for those motorcyclists storing their machines during the colder months.

In related news, the firm recently announced its new 2010 Paddock Blue clothing range is now available at Yamaha dealerships.
