Bike insurance policyholders may be interested to read that plans have been outlined for a motorcycle museum to be established in Lancashire.
The Winfields store in Haslingden is set to expand its repertoire and transform its Britannia Mill site into a museum to display 250 motorcycles, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
Executives at the firm have submitted their proposal to the local borough council and are keeping their fingers crossed the museum gets the go ahead.
"We have been collecting bikes for many years and display around 40 of them at the Haslingden site. We have so many now however, that we feel they should be on public display," commented store owner Dale Winfield.
He went on to say that the borough's residents enjoy looking at the antique models so the museum would make sense.
The county council's tourism head Peter Steen has lent his support to the plans, saying the project could be just what the local area needs.
"It will be a great tourist attraction," he suggested.
Bike insurance policyholders thinking about visiting a motorbike museum will find a national facility in London and another in Birmingham, with the latter undergoing repairs since a fire destroyed many of the bikes on show in 2001.
