Motorcycle racing team Honda has confirmed its commitment to the industry for 2010.

The firm plans to enter duo Ryuichi Kiyonari and Josh Brookes for the forthcoming season, bike insurance policyholders may be excited to read.

In the British Superbike class, both riders will compete atop a CBR1000RR Fireblade, with top racer Steve Plater also using the model in the British Superstock Championship.

Plater, who won the 2009 Senior TT, will also compete in the TT and NW200 grids alongside 15 times TT ace John McGuinness.

Steve Martindale, general manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles, commented that he was pleased to announce the team's plans for 2010.

"The British Superbike Championship is very strong and the high standard of rider talent and racing can be seen at every round," he added.

Honda Racing will also continue to support Clive Padgett's Honda squad in 2010, with Glen Richards due to compete in both the Superstock and Supersport classes, Ian Hutchinson in the Supersport series and John McGuinness Richards in the Superstock Championship.

Earlier this month, two of Honda's bikes were honoured at a ceremony held by publication Motor Cycle News. The new CBF125 scooped the Best Machine For New Riders title, while the CBR600RR was crowned Best Sportsbike Under 600cc.
