Latest BMW tourer takes the stage
BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new version of its K1200 GT in time for the New Season Launch Weekend on March 25th.
The machine will further make a name for Motorrad in the long-distance, tourer sports bike segment, specially designed to accommodate a passenger for many miles in comfort.
For example, there is an electric windscreen, adjustable handbars and other wind and weather protection.
Motorbike Insurance - Fantastic Quotes
The running gear and engine technology are familiar from the K1200 S and K1200 R models, while BMW Duolever and EVO-Paralever wheel guidance systems are two significant additions.
Although the four-cylinder engine was also a feature of the K1200S, in its latest incarnation the bike is 17 per cent more powerful with a 152hp engine.
Other standard features of the K1200 GT are the EVO brake system, electronic immobiliser and a three-way catalytic converter, while electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) and cruise control are available as extras.
Of course the call of the open road with all that long-distance capability won't make for the cheapest motor bike insurance, so BMW buffs may want to take a training course before setting off.
By reducing the risk of running into trouble this could also qualify you for any no claims discount offered - another route to cheaper motor bike insurance.
