A young motorcyclist may have shown grown-up bike insurance policyholders a thing or two when he won a biking event recently.
Josh Wright, aged nine, took part in the Southern Centre Championship, at Hut Hill, near Southampton recently, scooping the win in the Youth D class, the Isle of Wight County Press reports.
The publication states the young rider beat many adults during the competition and the island fared well overall, winning five of the eight classes being held.
Among the successful riders were Chris Stay and George Gosden, both aged 15, who took first and second places respectively in the expert class.
In the twinshock class, Nick Symes and Alan Gosden were described as the dominating forces on the track.
In related news, not-for-profit group the Racing Steps Foundation recently announced that it is now offering help for young bikers hoping to make it big in the racing world.
The organisation, which supports racing drivers, has widened its remit to include motorcyclists, taking on 2009 Aprilia Superteens Champion Wayne Ryan and 2009 Thundersport GB GP3 Champion Fraser Rogers in a bid to find the next Barry Sheene, it claims.
