Bike insurance policyholders are being urged to pit questions to Motor Cycle News (MCN) when it takes the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F and Suzuki GSX650F on a test ride.
The bikes will be ridden against one another and the publication is calling upon keen bikers to pose questions.
Both machines are 600cc with all-round capabilities and a sporty style, with the GSX650F producing 86 bhp and the Diversion F offering 74 bhp.
The Suzuki model is the cheaper of the two, retailing at £5,599, while the Yamaha offering costs £6,499.
Riders for the publication plan to assess the positive and negative points of each model on the road this week.
MCN suggests the bikes are direct rivals, despite the Suzuki model offering 19 litres to the Diversion F's 17.
Last November, the publication awarded Yamaha for its YZF-R1, presenting the firm with its MCN Bike of the Year accolade after judges announced no other motorcycle was as worthy of the award.
Yamaha also scooped the news provider's Best Sportsbike over 601cc accolade and took the gong for Best Scooter.
