Motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has announced its bike insurance policyholders will now be able to benefit from a winter health assessment until mid-March.

The firm has said its Winter Health Check Plus campaign has been extended until March 20th at participating dealerships.

Among the elements assessed as part of the examination are the oil and filter, as well as the general condition of the bike. The check has no obligations for bikers, although if the mechanic discovers a part needs replacing those opting for the work with Yamaha will receive a ten per cent discount.

"Due to the extreme weather experienced by the UK over the last few weeks, two-wheeled travel has been out of the question in most areas due to treacherous road conditions," the firm commented.

"Therefore, Yamaha would like to give its customers further opportunity to take advantage of this offer by extending the campaign end date."

In total, 30 areas are assessed as part of the check, which costs £79 and includes the oil and filter change.

The manufacturer recently announced a new finance deal entitled Let's Go % over 14 models which sees bikers pay zero per cent over 36 months with a deposit of £99.
