Bromley in bid to cut motorbike casualties
Bromley council is hoping to cut the number of bikers who die on the roads by introducing a new training course.
Costing £26 for the day, motorbike owners will spend the morning brushing up their road safety skills and pair up with a special observer in the afternoon. The observer will make notes on the biker's performance and feedback with tips for improving performance.
Motorbikes in Bromley only make up five per cent of traffic, but they are involved in approximately 17 per cent of accidents that result in a death.

The courses will be held at Bromley's Civic Centre three times a week, on April 22nd, June 24th and September 2nd this year.
Road safety officer, Angus Culverwell, told the News Shopper: "Our courses will concentrate on how a rider can identify potential hazards and then take action to avoid accidents before they happen."
Taking part in an approved motorcycle training course could also attract cheaper motor bike insurance. Insurers recognise that those with more riding experience present less of a risk, which can lead them to offer cheaper motor bike insurance deals.
You can also find cheaper motor bike insurance by reducing your mileage, perhaps by restricting your riding to weekends.
