Pop star Pink's husband Carey Hart may have been grateful for his bike insurance policy when one of his machines caught fire recently.

Last week the singing sensation reported on Twitter that her husband's bike was on fire outside their home in Los Angeles.

Pink noticed a bad smell in the air and the pair ventured outdoors to find the cause, discovering the bike ablaze.

"Carey's motorcycle caught on fire in our driveway today. He was mad. I just thought it smelled bad," she wrote on the website.

In other celebrity motorcycle news, the Liverpool Daily Post has reported that Wirral-based bike crash helmet firm Davida UK has seen increased interest in its products after the helmets were worn by pop star Lily Allen's backing dancers during a performance at the recent Brit Awards.

The singer, who is speculated as being set to retire from the music business soon, scooped the Best British Female Artist gong at the ceremony, with her backing dancers wearing pink Davida Jet helmets while she performed at the event.

"We have already received interest from fans who want to commemorate Lily Allen's retirement from music by buying a replica pink Davida Jet helmet," the helmet maker told the publication.
