A tactic that has seen countless motorcyclists randomly stopped on the roads of north Wales will come to an end, a report states.
According to Motorcycle News, the police in the region have confirmed they will stop routinely pulling over hundreds of motorcyclists each weekend.
In a statement, the force said: "An intelligence-led approach will mean the end of large numbers of motorcyclists routinely stopped each weekend to check the legality of bike and rider," the news provider claims.
The force added that alternatives to prosecution will be considered in a number of cases, such as where bikes have small numberplates - so long as it is clear that the rule breach is not a deliberate attempt to evade automatic reading equipment.
Minor offices will also be dealt with through the issuing of advice, the force reportedly said.
However, road users who continue to pose a risk to themselves and to others will continue to be targeted by the region's police force.
Off-road bikers in the region are being warned, however, that a new campaign is underway to catch those who are destroying the landscape through their activities.
