A keen biker who has already circumnavigated much of Africa by motorcycle is now set to cross another 15 countries in aid of charity.

Spencer Conway might want to invest in a thorough bike insurance policy for his adventures after braving many encounters during his African adventure, which has so far seen him shot off his bike in Kenya and hit a wandering goat in Mozambique.

The rider has negotiated four deserts alone and survived a violent sandstorm in Sahara and a flash flood in Namaqualand, Namibia.

And his Yamaha XT 660 Z Tenere has seen better days after enduring countless punctures and ripped tyres during its travels.

Conway is hoping to raise funds for Save the Children with his cross-country adventures, which will see him ride through a total of 28 countries and cover more than 37,300 miles with the goal of raising £28,000.

The stage of his journey will take the rider through territories such as Angola, DRC and Nigeria without a satnav. He is using an HD movie camera to capture his adventure on the move.

Actor Richard E Grant is the campaign's patron and the ride also has the support of worldwide adventurer and author Lois Pryce.
