Suzuki rider Carl Nunn achieved an impressive performance at Foxhill recently as he began his defence of the Red Bull MX1 Pro National Champion title.

The MVR-D team member took third place on the podium at the end of the MX1 event, despite having struggled in qualifying.

Atop his RM-Z450 machine, the biker managed to edge his way into second place in race one and achieve fifth place in the second heat following a poor start to the race.

Nunn commented that he was pleased with the day overall. He went on to say it is no secret the rider sometimes struggles with the first race of the day but he had felt comfortable during both events at Foxhill.

"Race two was tougher, but I still managed to make good of a poor start and thanks to the RM-Z450's power was able to move through the pack to fifth and get third overall," the racer said.

Team manager Mark Chamberlain commented that he was pleased with the rider's performance; with his surprising ability in race one being a bonus.

Nunn struggled recently at the first race of the 2010 Maxxis British Motocross Championship at the Little Silver Track in Devon, where he failed to achieve a podium result.
