Reading police read bikers the riot act
Authorities in Reading have completed a crackdown on bikers who use their motorbikes off-road or otherwise breach rules concerning antisocial behaviour.
Eight police officers took part in a three-day blitz around the Berkshire town between April 9th and 11th, with six cautions issued over three areas: Southecote, Tilehurst and Caversham. Two people are due to appear in court and the police confiscated five motorbikes.
Those who escaped with a warning were told that their bikes would also be removed if they committed a similar offence before a year had elapsed.

Sergeant Darren Brown told the Reading Chronicle: "Many people think it is legal to ride these bikes off-road but it is actually illegal if the riders are trespassing, do not have insurance, a licence and the correct safety equipment."
The crackdown underlines the importance of checking the details of motor bike insurance with care.
Some motor bike insurance companies may offer specific off road motor bike insurance policies, but it is important to check that your motor bike insurance quote meets your specific needs.
In general the cost of motor bike insurance varies depending on the age and experience of the rider, the typical mileage covered and the model of bike. 125cc bike insurance will also be more expensive than 50cc bike insurance.
