Motorcycle manufacturer Honda has announced its Ron Haslam Race School is moving to Silverstone this year.

Now in its 14th year, the school will feature at the so-called home of British Motorsport, much to the potential delight of visiting bike insurance policyholders.

Spokesperson for the school Ann Haslam said instructors and clients had given "fantastic" feedback about the move.

"They enjoyed the circuit more than they thought they would and commented that due to the fast but technical nature of the track, there is a great opportunity to learn many new riding skills," she added.

During the year the school will teach on 16 separate occasions, covering all levels of riders from beginners to expert.

A full motorcycle licence is not needed to take part, which means students as young as 12 can learn the basics of riding and hone their skills.

Steve Martindale, general manager of Honda UK Motorcycles, commented: "Places across the school's 16 days are filling up fast so we're confident this will be another great year for the Honda Ron Haslam School."

In related news, Honda is currently participating in the British Super Bike Championship, with Plant Honda racer Josh Brookes second in the standings.
