A challenging third round of the British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park may have seen bike insurance policyholders disappointed by the performance of Honda's HM Pant team.

Racers Josh Brookes and Ryuichi Kiyonari each took a top six finish but struggled with issues that prevented them moving into the final podium spots.

Brookes suffered with chatter in the first race and rear grip became a problem in the second, while Kiyonari was forced wide and pushed back in his races.

The Japanese rider commented: "In the first race Alastair Seeley passed me into Shell Oils corner really hard and it pushed me wide which lost me positions and my momentum.

"I then had a technical problem so I had to retire, but I was happy to be starting from the pole position in the second race."

Meanwhile, Brookes said the event had been frustrating and difficult, adding he was annoyed to have not been able to progress throughout the day.

He concluded with hopes high that the performance will not be repeated at Cadwell Park, where the fourth leg takes place on May 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

Team manager Havier Beltran said it was disappointing the team did not manage to achieve the results they had anticipated.
