Motorbike trial for Soft Cell singer
The importance of motorbike insurance has been emphasised by a trial involving an eminent pop star.
Marc Almond, of the band Soft Cell, has launched legal proceedings against the motorist with whom he had a collision, while riding his motorbike in 2004.
The near-fatal crash left the 49-year-old singer in hospital for five months with serious injuries.
Mr Almond could be due a healthy pay out if he manages to convince the court that the driver, Chandan Kumar Paul, was at fault.

Mr Almond's serious head injuries have meant that he's only recently been able to return to the recording studio.
The singer has yet to reveal if he will ever take up riding motorbikes again.
Every year an between 20 and 40 motorcycle riders die on the UK's roads, with ten times as many again suffering serious injury.
The majority of these accidents occur when motorbikes collide with stationary or slow-moving traffic.
The relatively dangerous nature of the activity has led to disproportionate increase in motorbike insurance premiums compared to the rest of the insurance market.
Most motorbikes depreciate in value quite rapidly and in the event of a material damage claim, insurance companies will only pay the current market value of the bike.
