Honda has launched a new addition to its scooter range with the 125cc PCX.
The budget-friendly yet stylish model could appeal to bike insurance policyholders with little cash to splash, retailing at £2,270.
Fitted with a liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine, the model can deliver 130 miles to the gallon and benefits from an extra five per cent in fuel efficiency as a result of its Idle Stop Switch, which turns the engine off when the vehicle is idle for more than three seconds.
The curvaceous scooter is described by Honda as combining style and comfort with economy and practicality.
"Scooters offer real freedom: freedom from traffic congestion, freedom from constraints of public transport and freedom from a large carbon footprint," the firm went on to say.
It added that it expects the PCX to become a leader in its class as riders look for a way to counteract rising fuel prices and environmental issues.
The model is available in pearl Himalaya white, asteroid black metallic and seal silver metallic finishes.
In May, Honda also announced it will launch the latest member of its CBF1000 family onto the market this autumn.
