A green scooter from BMW is set to make its debut at the National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show later this month.
The C1-E concept vehicle will be showcased at the event, sponsored the Motor Cycle Industry Association's Get On campaign on June 12th and 13th.
Enhanced since its former incarnation, the model has been fitted with an electric motor and is the only single-track motorised vehicle to be exempt from helmet-wearing laws in most European countries.
BMW comments that the vehicle is powered with a lithium ion battery, "providing enough power to master inner-city traffic with ease", adding that the model can also be fitted with an internal combustion engine.
BikeSafe organisers said the public will get the opportunity to see the model firsthand at the show as well as take part in a range of activities.
More than 100 exhibitors are expected to turn out for the event, which will offer free assessed ride-outs, stunt displays and family attractions.
Run by police forces nationwide, BikeSafe aims to help promote safety among motorcyclists. The annual event is free to attend and will feature professional riders who will pass on knowledge and advice that could help riders avoid bike insurance claims.
