India wary of "fake" motorbikes
Travellers heading to India should beware of counterfeit models when renting or buying a motorcycle.
Every year thousands of holiday-makers, gap-year students and hippies head to India for the sun, sea and mystery.
Comprehensive insurance is essential as there are many scams, illnesses and hazards lying in weight for even the most intrepid explorers.
Travellers are advised to make sure that their travel insurance packages include insurance for motorbike riding, before attempting to ride one.

Bajaj Auto, the most common brand of motorbike in semi-urban and rural India, has identified a sharp rise in the number of copies in circulation, reports newindpress.
The fake motorbikes are manufactured in China at a fraction of the price, and with no safety guidelines.
However, they are often indistinguishable from original Bajaj Autos, and authorities are unclear how many of these potentially dangerous counterfeits are on the market.
The issue was to be discussed by the company's executive director, Sanjiv Bajaj, at a board of directors' meeting, but no official statement has been made on the subject at this time.
Copied models of leading brands like Honda have also begun to appear on the Indian market.
