Honda has announced it is fully behind the Get On motorcycling campaign and will be holding an open day across many of its dealerships tomorrow.

The bike brand will throw open its doors along with other manufacturers from the motorcycling world to show its support for the campaign, which aims to introduce more Britons to riding.

Bike insurance policyholders planning to attend their local dealership could help with the campaign by bringing along a non-riding friend. Anyone who does so will be entered into a draw for top prizes such as a holiday to Italy and a GPRX7 Leon Haslam limited edition World Cup design helmet.

The Get On initiative is being spearheaded by the Motorcycle Industry Association's (MCI) and looks to promote motorcycling as offering social, economic, practical and environmental benefits.

General Manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles Steve Martindale said: "The Get On campaign initiative is important to the whole industry and it's great that motorcycle manufacturers and dealers across the whole country are joining together to promote our fantastic industry."

Some 12 of Honda's regional dealerships will open tomorrow, while others will hold Get On events during the rest of the year.

Meanwhile, the MCI is urging Britons to have a free bike ride during National Motorcycle Week between July 18th and 24th to explore the benefits of riding.
