MC5 bassist breaks spine in motorbike smash

Michael Davis, formerly the bassist for rock group MC5, has been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.

The musician crashed his Harley Davidson, when it collided with the exhaust muffler from the vehicle in front, which had fallen off.

Mr Davis would certainly have been killed had he not been wearing his crash helmet.
