Motorcycle fans are being urged to consider how life can be better on two wheels this National Motorcycle Week.

The event is scheduled to take place between July 18th and 24th and everyone is invited to attend local training schools to discover the benefits of motorcycling.

According to the Motor Cycle Industry (MCI), some 11,000 people have already booked their first experience on a motorcycle or scooter as part of the Get On scheme, which gives interested consumers the chance to have a one-hour lesson for free.

Meanwhile, riders are being urged to organise events in their local areas to introduce new motorcyclsists to the world of two wheels.

Steve Kenward, MCI's chief executive officer, commented that more than 8,000 people have already enjoyed a free lesson with qualified instructors as part of Get On.

He added that "National Motorcycle Week is the perfect time to join in the celebrations and either run your own event or if you've never ridden before or just fancy a refresher sign up on the website".

Non-riders attending their local Get On dealership have the chance to win prizes from iPads and iPods to motorcycling holidays for two before July 31st.
