HM Plant Honda rider Ryuichi Kiyonari potentially got pulses racing at the recent fifth round of the British Superbike Championship where he took two race wins.

The Japanese rider stormed ahead of the competition, even surpassing teammate Josh Brookes, at Mallory Park.

Kiyo may have impressed on-looking bike insurance policyholders with his performance, taking the top spot in both heats, while Brookes took second in the races.

He commented that the weekend had been the best of the year so far.

"I knew that Josh was going to be pushing me hard, but I stayed consistent and tried not to make many mistakes, but we are in a very good position now before Knockhill next weekend," he said.

Kiyo, who achieved a "sensational" pole position performance in qualifying, is now fourth in the standings while teammate Brookes in second.

He set a time of 55.630 seconds, which was faster than Leon Camier's pole position lap last season.

Runner-up Brookes added that he caught up to his teammate but could not have continued at such a pace without crashing.
