Head protection product company Shoei has unveiled a new addition to its 2010 UK range in the form of the Qwest helmet, which could give valuable protection to motorcycle insurance policyholders on the road.

The Qwest has been designed with the wearer's comfort in mind, boasting aerodynamic optimisation, a lightweight shell and a minimal noise level.

It was designed using Shoei's brand new, state of the art wind tunnel, to test the aerodynamics and noise levels of the new model.

At 60.3 per cent quieter than the Shoei Raid-II model, equivalent to 2.2 decibels, motorbike insurance holders can enjoy their journey in peace and quiet.

The Qwest comes in four colours: black, light silver, matt black and gloss white, as well as in two graphic models. These will be available in sizes XXS to XXL.

Motorcycle insurance customers may be able to snap up the Qwest at the suggested retail price starting at £259.99 in September, rising to £339.99 for the graphic models.

Shoei was founded by Eitaro Kamata who designed his products specifically for the racing sector. It has since broken into European and American markets while its products are still manufactured in Japan.
