A motorcycling enthusiast who has the neurological disease multiple sclerosis has built himself a bike from scratch.
In news that may brighten the day of many motorcycle insurance policyholders, Ken Pavlick, 65, enlisted the help of his grandsons to get him back on the road after his condition left him wheelchair-bound, Danville Commercial News reported.
Now Mr Pavlick has a new lease of life with his beloved motorcycle, which features a Ford Taurus making up its back end and motor.
"I knew I needed a heavy duty front end," he told the news provider.
"My two grandsons, Derek and Zack, helped. They tore out parts of a motorcycle and a car."
Having ridden a motor scooter since the age of ten, Mr Pavlick, who probably knows a lot about motorcycle insurance, has managed to ride the home-made bike at up to 70 miles per hour on the interstate near his home in Warren County, Indiana.
"I have enjoyed my motorcycle days through the years," he commented, adding that building the motorcycle helped boost his strength.
Motorcycle insurance policyholders considering building their own bike from scratch could try their hand at a motorcycle kit. They would need the right tools, plenty of spare time and a large space to spread out their kit.
