Motorcycle insurance policyholders who have been eagerly anticipating Honda's new 2011 models will now have the chance to check out the new CRF450R and CRF250R in its motocross range.
Joining them will be the CRF150R, all three of which comply with new International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) maximum noise regulation, which last November was lowered to 81 dBA from 100 metres for motocross and track racing and capped at 78 dBA from 100 metres for Enduro noise levels.
HME off-road race manager Roger Harvey commented: "Honda engineers have worked extremely hard in creating an improved package, making a substantial number of subtle changes that improve the R models overall and at the same time complying with the new FIM noise regulation."
The two R models have been improved in the mid-range power delivery and each boasts new engine control unit (ECU) mapping and narrower throttle body.
Motorcycle insurance policyholders may be among those lucky to catch a glimpse of the new TRX420FPM, which boasts power steering and joins Honda's 2011 all-terrain vehicle (ATV) range.
Rider Tanel Leok, who won this year's World Championship Grand Prix, tested the new CRF250R and was surprised by the lap times he racked up on the model.
It is an outstanding bike, he commented.
