Motorcycle insurance policyholders may have been among the thousands of bike enthusiasts who gathered in the Wiltshire town of Calne to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Rotary Club's motorbike meet.

According to Thisiswiltshire.co.uk, some 4,000 motorcyclists turned up in the town centre on July 24th before riding to the Bowood estate and posing for an aerial photograph.

Rotarian Mike Smith told the news provider that the atmosphere among the motorcycle insurance policyholders was "amazing".

"The bikers were so chilled, they come on these magnificent, expensive machines and they just want to show them off to their mates," he said.

Mr Smith noted that motorcycle insurance policyholders may have enjoyed the varied activities of the day, which included a performance by jazz band Worried Men and other bands, eating food from the stalls dotted around the town and spotting the motorcyclist who turned up on a bike made in 1912.

"We don't quite know how we will top it for next year - but we will do our best," he said.

Motorcycle insurance policyholders who attended the day helped raise £5,000 for the chosen charities, which were the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Calne Youth Trust and Rotary charities.
