Motorcycle insurance policyholders might be thrilled to learn that Harley-Davidson is cutting prices on a range of its bike models as part of a drive to make the company more "accessible and affordable".

The legendary American motorcycle manufacturer will be slashing more than £700 off the price of the Night Rod Special, while motorcycle insurance customers can pick up savings of £400 when they purchase a Softail Cross Bones model.

Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland marketing manager Jessica Tideswell commented that she was "delighted" to be able to offer price reductions for motorcycle insurance customers and expressed hope that both new and existing Harley-Davidson clients would see the move as conducive to bike ownership.

"We have seen a huge growth in the popularity of customisation this year, so hopefully the lower price tags will help our customers achieve the bike of their dreams by freeing up some extra cash for the parts and accessories that they covet," Ms Tideswell added.

The US motorcycle marque has also launched its new 2010 Fall collection of MotorClothes, designed to allow riders to adapt to the autumn season and be prepared for the unpredictable weather it brings.

The range includes two new men's jackets and leather gloves, while female motorcycle insurance policyholders might like to try out the new lightweight Dusty Roads leather jacket, which is cut to flatter women's figures.
