Motorcyclists laid low by loose flags
Throughout the World Cup, motorcyclists will be endangered by vehicles that are flying the St George's flag out their windows without proper care, it has been claimed.
The British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) has joined forces with the RAC to warn motorists to take the utmost care when flying an England flag from their vehicle, as if the flag breaks free they are at risk of being prosecuted.
This comes after one BMF member was struck with a flag while riding on the M4 and a recent spot check on the A13 showed a flag to have fallen on the roadside three times per every mile.

BMF spokesman Jeff Stone explained: "We don't want to be seen as party poopers but a wayward flag hitting a motorcyclist in the face could be a serious own goal.
"Motorcyclists want to see England win - they don't want to be brought down by their own side."
The BMF and RAC warn motorists to ensure any flag they fly from their vehicle is specifically designed for car use and that it is tightly secured in the gap between the door and the window.
They also strongly advocate that motorists do not fly flags on the motorway as they are liable to come loose while travelling at speeds above 50mph and to ensure that in no way does any flag block the driver's vision.
