Bikers do length of the country for charity
Nearly 30 brave motorcyclists are literally riding the length of the country in a bid to raise money for two cancer charities.
Altogether 28 commendable monkey bike riders are currently making the 874-mile journey from Land's End in Cornwall to John O'Groats in the northeast of Scotland in an effort to raise £25,000 to help in the battle against the deadly disease.
Among those travelling this arduous route is the ride's organiser Mark Wadsworth, for whom the ride has special significance as part of the proceeds will be going to the Huddersfield hospital oncology ward that treated him when he himself was suffering with cancer.

He told motorcyclenews.com: "The first couple of days were fun because the weather was horrendous and it was playing havoc with the electrics on some of the bikes.
"We've had a few breakdowns but we are still altogether and making good progress."
Mr Wadsworth said that the amount of distance the bikes were covering between fill-ups on this weeklong trip varied according to the different models, with some of the Dax bikes managing 50 miles at a time while those with Gorilla tanks can do up to 155 miles.
A portion of the money they raise will also be going to Cancerbackup, the charity set up back in 1985 to provide cancer patients with the information, advice and support they need to get them and their families through their ordeal.
