Hayden wants more US races
American MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden has announced that he would like to see the competition hold more races in his homeland, which currently hosts just one.
The Honda racer was victorious in the season's latest edition at California's Laguna Seca circuit, where he started in sixth position but by the halfway stage had taken first place and comfortably held onto it.
Hayden clearly enjoyed his success on home territory, brandishing an US flag upon completing the course, but the Kentucky-born rider stated in a recent interview that he would like more opportunities to race in America.

Asked by Sports Illustrated what he would do if he were 'commissioner for the day', the 25-year-old replied that he would "add another race in the US".
He explained: "Spain's got three races. We could have one in Florida or Atlanta - somewhere close to home."
Hayden's form in the US has been consistently excellent, having taken his maiden MotoGP victory at Laguna Seca on its return to usage in the competition last year.
This year's win there has now further cemented his position as leader of the overall standings, 34 and 44 points ahead of his Honda teammates Dani Pedrosa and Marco Melandri respectively and 51 ahead of defending champion Valentino Rossi.
