Rossi not fazed by Valencia test

Valentino Rossi is determined that, having resolutely climbed to the top of the MotoGP standings, he will not let the pressure get to him and blow it on the last day of the season.

Seemingly out of the title race just a few weeks ago when his bike failed in the American GP, Rossi has strung together a run of podium finishes to finally overhaul Nicky Hayden at the top of the table with just one race to go.

The Yamaha rider admits that Hayden is traditionally very strong in Valencia, where this season's finale will take place, but having battled so hard to get himself into this position, Rossi has vowed that he will not surrender it now.

He stated: "Each person has worked at 100 per cent to bring us back to this position and now we're all very excited about this final race.

"Of course it's not going to be like other times, when I have won the championship with some races to spare and less pressure. Now I only have one chance. It's a big pressure for everyone, but it's great for the show."

As always, the Italian was quick to praise the role his Yamaha colleagues had played in getting him to this point and emphasised the important role his team mate Colin Edwards will have to play in Valencia.

Edwards is just as eager to emulate his performance from Portugal last weekend and help Rossi clinch his title, adding that a Yamaha one-two on the podium would be a perfect finish to the season.
