Hayden moving on
Nicky Hayden insists he has gotten over the disastrous outcome of his last race and will do his utmost to claim the MotoGP title from Valentino Rossi's clutches this weekend.
Having been ahead of the chasing pack for several months, the young American's season unravelled in the space of a few mediocre performances and he lost his lead in the standings when he collided with team mate Dani Pedrosa in the Portuguese GP.

Yet Hayden is refusing to lament over the incident and with Rossi having failed to beat Toni Elias in Portugal and really press home his advantage, he feels that he can punish the Italian by shining on the Valencia course on which he has always performed well.
He explained: "Valencia is a track I really like and the atmosphere there is unreal - it's as good as it gets as far as a crowd to race in front of.
"So I go there with nothing to lose - I need to win and hope that Rossi has a bad weekend. I know that's a long shot but we won't surrender until the chequered flag on Sunday."
Hayden now sits eight points behind the Yamaha rider and so could still claim the title by coming first if Rossi finishes no higher than third, while any podium finish would be enough if the defending champion cannot make the top eight.
