Nakano seeking wins
MotoGP rider Shinya Nakano is hoping to make his transfer to Honda a happy one, as he looks to eradicate the inconsistency that dogged him throughout 2006.
Nakano quit previous employer Kawasaki at the end of last season after he could only finish 14th overall despite some good performances and although he insists that the bikes he was provided with were improving, he admits to feeling that it was time for a change.
Such an opportunity came with the offer from Honda and the Japanese racer has told Motor Cycle News that the move has provided him with the "motivation" necessary to make the podium more often and to gain the MotoGP win that has eluded him so far.

Looking ahead to the coming season, Nakano commented: "All the Honda riders will be big rivals, but I want to get close to Hayden and also to Rossi.
"They are fast everywhere. They don't have a track which they don't like and they can mark a fast time from the first day."
The 29-year-old managed to make the top ten in eight races last year but his undoubted potential was not fully realised due to a tendency to throw away good qualifying positions and his failure to finish on six separate occasions.
He did manage the greatest performance of his MotoGP career to date however, with a second place in the Dutch GP marking his highest ever finish and his first appearance on the podium in two years.
