Rossi on song ahead of new season
Valentino Rossi appears to be coming to terms with the new 800cc format of MotoGP racing, as he prepares for the battle to win back the championship.
Last year's runner-up Rossi was the quickest rider during recent testing at Sepang, in Malaysia, with his fastest time of just under two minutes and one second close to the record time he set in qualification for last year's grand prix there.
The Italian declared afterwards that he was satisfied with both his performance and the progress being made with the bike, adding that although there are still things to be worked out, he is satisfied that his Yamaha colleagues are on the right track.

Rossi divulged: "We concentrated a lot on braking and definitely made some improvements, although I think we can still make it even better and this is something we will work on when we come back here.
"We had an important technical meeting today and came to some interesting conclusions, which will help Yamaha's engineers to continue to improve our new bike."
The 29-year-old therefore concluded that the test had been "very positive" before looking ahead to the next trial on this course in under a fortnight's time, when he and Yamaha will look at how to improve his bike's engine power.
MotoGP racing recommences with the Jerez GP in Spain next month and Rossi will be keen to avenge his losing the title to Nicky Hayden in the final race of last season, the first time he had surrendered the championship in six years.
