Capirossi happy with progress
MotoGP racer Loris Capirossi feels that he and his colleagues at Ducati have taken several steps forward in their preparations for the forthcoming season.
Veteran rider Capirossi recently participated in the three-day testing in Sepang, Malaysia and finished strongly, performing an impressive 11-lap trial on the circuit on the final day and nearly matching the record time that he set there last year.
He enjoyed similar success after switching to qualifying tyres and having also had the opportunity to test out both his bike's engine and its suspension, the Italian is in a bullish mood ahead of the season's opener in Australia next month.

Capirossi commented: "I am really pleased with the work we've done over the last three days.
"We have made a big improvement and are now competitive. The fact that I set my best time on race tyres at the end of a long run of 11 laps means that both the bike and the tyres also go well on this circuit."
The 33-year-old was equally satisfied with the qualifying tyres and backed Bridgestone to make the most of the data they have garnered from these trials and provide him with match-winning equipment.
Last season Capirossi attained his highest ever MotoGP position by coming third overall, taking three victories and a total of eight podium finishes in the process - and the Ducati man will be eager to roll back the years again in 2007.
