Pedrosa is leader of the pack
Dani Pedrosa was the fastest rider during last week's testing in Qatar, breaking the lap record on the track where the MotoGP season will commence next month.
For the previous two days of testing, Yamaha duo Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards had been dominating proceedings, but the final day at Doha saw Pedrosa dip under one minute 57 seconds on race tyres to beat the record set there last year by Rossi.
He fared equally well with qualifying tyres, again setting a new lap record, but while the young Spaniard was rightly satisfied with his display, he was still in no mood for complacency.

Pedrosa said afterwards: "It was really important to get a good feeling here because the first race of the season will be held here and now I hope that, when we come back, the conditions are similar and we can take advantage of this test.
"But it wasn't only us that had a good test: also Yamaha and Suzuki are fast, Ducati as well. We will continue to see how the tyres work and that's why we cannot relax."
Having by his own admission concentrated on his own performance, Pedrosa said that he and his Honda team had nonetheless also managed to make some judgments on how the bike was progressing.
The 21-year-old has a reasonable record in Qatar and in three weeks' time he will be looking to improve on the sixth place finish that he managed there last year, in what was only his second ever race in MotoGP.
