Rossi hoping to go one better in Spain
Valentino Rossi is hoping to continue his good start to the MotoGP season with a win in Spain this weekend and he believes that his M1 bike is more than capable of delivering it.
The Italian's performance in the opening Qatari GP was solid enough, but although he comfortably took the runner-up spot in the end, his Yamaha appeared to lack the necessary speed to oust eventual winner Casey Stoner.
Yet Rossi nonetheless feels significant improvements have been made since last season and that the lack of horsepower will be resolved in due course, while he also claimed that the M1 is already perfectly suited to the forthcoming race in Jerez.

He commented: "Jerez is one of my favourite circuits and I've had some great races there in the past, so I hope this is another good year for me there.
"Qatar was very quiet, which was a good way to start the season because there were no distractions for me, but Jerez is always a great party with a fantastic atmosphere, so now I am really looking forward to that and I hope we can give the fans a good show."
Dani Pedrosa also made the podium in Qatar and Rossi expects him to be one of the main challengers again in Jerez, predicting that the young Spaniard will shine on home soil.
Rossi has seven victories to his name on this circuit, while Pedrosa recorded a win in Jerez in his final season in 250cc racing and also enjoyed a highly successful MotoGP debut there last year, finishing second behind Loris Capirossi.
