Bike lovers set for Superbike Championship
Riders from across the world are preparing to descend on Silverstone to compete in this year's British Superbike Championship.
Both event and track are steeped in history and with excitement, adrenalin and fast-paced action a given, and this year's event could be the most nail-biting yet.
The British Superbike event attracts enthusiasts from across the world because all the bikes that compete are based on production models, allowing the fans to identify and develop passionate support for some of the bikes on show.

Last year was no exception as Ryuichi Kiyonari, Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla fought tooth and nail for the title before Kiyonari captured the coveted crown on his Ducati in the last round.
Even without the bikes the venue itself is well worth a visit in order to pay homage to what many consider the home of motor sport. Silverstone was a Second World War base before hosting the inaugural Formula One race in 1950. The historic track has been iconic in the development of both two and four wheeled motor sport ever since.
There will also be a genuine homegrown contender in the shape of up and coming Ulsterman Jonathon Rea, who will be riding for the HM Plant Honda team.
Admission to the two day event will cost no more than £30 for adults, while children under-16 are admitted free.
