BMF appoints new representative for biker community
The British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) has appointed a new lobbyist, who is set to take up a prominent role in defending the rights of the nation's riders.
Chris Hodder is succeeding Richard Oliffe as the Federation's government relations executive (GRE), while also taking over the duties of the departing senior GRE and lobbyist Trevor Magner.
According to the BMF, the 27-year-old is ideally suited to uphold the interests of British bikers due to the considerable experience he garnered working within the public services union Unison, as well as to his own great passion for motorcycling.
Chairman Anna Zee commented: "We are very pleased to have Chris on board.

"With Trevor now retired, we will soon be advertising for the second post, but in the meantime, although Chris has got a formidable act to follow, he has a good team around him and we now look forward to tackling the many issues facing us."
Mr Hodder has himself declared that his priorities in his new position will be to promote the wider take-up of motorcycling and improve safety among riders, while also combating overzealous legislation.
He is in this respect well-suited to the objectives of the BMF, which has in the past 12 months vocally opposed proposals for changes in motorcycling tests, stricter restrictions for young riders and mandatory registration for off-road vehicles.
