Stoner tells pretender Rossi to stop your sobbing
Casey Stoner has refuted Valentino Rossi's claim that new tyre restrictions have overly boosted his MotoGP title challenge, insisting instead that everyone is in the same boat.
Having now slipped 44 points behind Stoner, Rossi protested that rules stipulating that a pre-chosen set of tyres must be used for entire race weekends have given riders who use Bridgestone tyres, such as the MotoGP leader, an unfair advantage.
These accusations irked Stoner, who responded that Michelin-user Rossi had backed the rule change at the start of the season and that he and other riders only use it as an excuse when they perform poorly and do not mention it when they perform well.

He told the Australian Associated Press: "They can moan and whinge about it as much as they want, but it shows [Michelin] have had such an advantage in the past and this season they cannot bring a tyre in just for the race.
"It's a matter of relying on the company that supports you to do a good job."
The young Ducati racer also pointed out that there have been occasions this season where he too has suffered because of the unsuitability of his tyres, notably in the German GP, in which he came fifth.
Nonetheless, Bridgestone's performance in 2007 has been undeniably outstanding: the recent American GP was the third race this season where all three men on the podium have used its tyres, as did four other top ten finishers.
