New Ford vehicle to help police tackle vehicle crime
Police officers will be given a helping hand tackling vehicle crime this winter thanks to a new vehicle provided to them by automobile manufacturer Ford.
The company has distributed its T350 vehicle to officials in order to assist them in carrying out investigations.
Kitted with a mobile security display unit, alloy wheel marking equipment and a PA system, the model could see motorists save on their bike insurance policies.
But that is only if it prevents people from making claims, as cover companies usually offer increased premiums to those who have suffered vehicle thefts and damage before.

Inspector Jonathan Baldwin of Essex Police stated that the two bodies have joined forces in order to "reduce the impact" of such activity.
He remarked: "We believe that working with companies such as Ford within crime reduction partnership agreements will help take these criminals off the road and reduce their ability to commit crime."
The amount of vehicle-related incidents reported to police has fallen, Home Office figures show.
According to the body, there has been a 51 per cent drop since 1997.
