Road instructions 'go unheeded by Swindon drivers'
Drivers in Wiltshire have been ignoring a road sign erected for their own protection, it has been claimed.
An officer in Swindon states that people are not taking any notice of a placard erected by road authorities in the event of a crash in Lydiard Millicent.
Police constable David Cooper from the Central Roads Policing Unit states that the activity is dangerous for people close to Stone Lane.
He said: "This is a common occurrence at collision scenes and these drivers are putting themselves and members of the emergency services at risk."
Motorcycle Insurance - Great quotes!
Indeed, it may be that a bike insurance claim resulting from a crash goes without a pay-out as cover companies may state that the driver was acting in a negligent fashion.
Riders may also find it difficult to pick up cheaper deals in the future if firms consider them a risk.
Meanwhile, authorities in Devon have said that they will not be using multi-lingual road signs in the future, it has been reported.
The county council believes that the introduction of such a scheme would prove to be too expensive, Road Transport states.
