Motorists caught out in speeder clampdown
Drivers in Yorkshire were punished for breaking the speed limit as part of a crackdown on the act, it has been reported.
According to York Press, offending motorists in the region were given the option of picking up a fixed penalty notice or taking a refresher course on the dangers of the act.
It may be that those found breaking the law now have difficulty picking up a car or bike insurance policy, as cover companies may see them as an increased road threat and increase their prices to match.

North Yorkshire Police community safety officer PC Terry Triffitt called the Operation Siren campaign "a great way to alert drivers" as to the dangers of exceeding the speed limit on the road.
"In the festive period, it is especially pertinent to draw attention to the dangers of careless and inconsiderate driving," said the official.
This comes as figures from the Department for Transport show that there were some 3,150 people killed on roads in the UK over the course of 2006, compared to 3,201 fatalities record in 2005.
