Crackdown on rogue road users announced
Motorists in Yorkshire who break the law on the road are to be targeted by police in the region over the Christmas period, it has been reported.
York Press states that officers in the area are to come down on drivers who use their mobile phones behind the wheel in much the same way they target drink-drivers at this time of year.
Such an increase in activity can have a serious effect on bike insurance, as rogue users could face larger costs if they are found to be drunk behind the wheel, while they could end up making fewer claims if dangerous behavior is reduced by the clampdown.

Tom Foxton from City of York Council's road safety team commented on the initiative.
He said: "Additional enforcement of the mobile phone legislation will be taking part alongside our Christmas drink-drive campaign this month."
This comes after the Department for Transport introduced increased punishments for those caught chatting or texting on their mobile phones while on the road.
Since February, people can pick up a £60 fine in addition to a three-point driving licence penalty.
