Rural roads crackdown announced by Tayside officials
Police officers in one area of the UK are looking to clamp down on motorists who take unnecessary risks on rural roads, it has been reported.
The BBC states that the Tayside Safety Camera Partnership is looking to prevent drivers from speeding and behaving badly on countryside highways.
It added that out of all the accidents that occur in the UK each year, seventy per cent happen on rural roads, with young and inexperienced drivers particularly at risk.
People in the area may find that if the police initiative is successful, they save on their bike insurance policies as cover firms could view the region to be less dangerous.

David Farmer, safety camera manager in the area, stated that officers have already witnessed a large volume of dangerous activity.
"The latest rural roads initiative staged only last month by Tayside Police saw a number of crass acts of stupidity on our roads," the official commented.
Drivers in Cumbria appear to have been safer over 2007, with figures from Whitehaven News showing that deaths were down from 60 to 44 against statistics from 2006.
