Vehicle crime 'falls in south Worcestershire'
The number of incidents of vehicle theft in south Worcestershire has gone down in recent months, it has been claimed.
According to statistics from West Mercia Police, there were 49 per cent fewer laptop computers stolen over a six-month period in addition to a fall of 51 per cent in satellite navigation device robberies.
A representative commented that it was pleasing to see motorists following the constabulary's advice.
"It is heartening to see that more and more drivers are taking our best advice and not giving opportunist thieves any chance to undertake what can sometimes be less than two minutes activity," said a spokesman for the force.
Motorcycle Insurance - Great quotes!
This could be good news for people who have taken out bike insurance policies, as it may be that riders find that monthly costs are reduced if the downtrend in vehicle crime continues.
Further statistics from the Home Office indicate that the frequency of such incidents has decreased over the last decade.
The body has published figures showing that there has been a 51 per cent drop in vehicle crime in the UK since 1997.
