Council receives residents' anti-speed petition
People living in a Lincolnshire village have handed in a petition to the local council which protests the volume of drivers breaking the speed limit in the area, it has been reported.
The Skegness Standard states that people in Ingoldmells have had enough of the dangerous activity, with hundreds signing up.
It adds that they believe the Hurdman Way and Sea Lane parts of the village are among the most dangerous.
Motorists who are caught breaking the speed limit risk picking up a roads conviction, which can affect a car or bike insurance policy if cover firms judge them to be enough of a risk.

However, the news source states that a Lincolnshire Police study of the aforementioned areas found that the average speed record fell below the limit.
"In Sea Lane there has been three slight injury road traffic collisions within the last three years, all within the 20 mph section and again, none of them were due to excessive speed," said Inspector Steve Hill.
This comes as a residents' petition in Finchampstead has resulted in the council dropping the speed limit, according to the Reading Chronicle.
Carolina Place will now be a 20 mph zone, it states.
