Cheshire motorists face icy road difficulties
Highways in Cheshire are expected to freeze over tonight, causing a problem for motorists in the region, a local news source comments.
Cheshire County Council is warning people that they could experience difficulties on the road because of this, according to the Northwich Guardian.
It adds that rain is predicted in the region's east between 21:00 and 22:00 GMT, with the county's strategic network manager Melvin Swallow commenting that this hardly gives officials a chance to prepare.
"This gives us very little time to mobilise our gritters and ensure that the roads are treated before the ice forms," commented Mr Swallow.
Motorbike Insurance - Great quotes!
Motorists in the region may find that their car or motorbike insurance policies become compromised in the event of an accident.
Similarly, areas considered dangerous and prone to bad weather could be ones where cover providers increase costs in the future.
Meanwhile, research from Mercedes-Benz World has found the conditions people hate having to deal with the most while driving.
According to the firm, three-quarters of motorists lack confidence in extreme weather, with 60 per cent citing icy as the worst condition highways can be in.
