Motorists reminded to remove valuables
It is important to make sure no items of worth are stored in a vehicle when leaving it, according to officials in Wiltshire.
The Swindon Advertiser comments that drivers in Swindon have been warned after thefts in Purton and Wootton Basset.
It adds that criminals broke into a van on High Street and proceeded to search the vehicle for goods.
This could have a negative effect on car or bike insurance policies in the region, as it may be that cover firms put up their prices as a result of the perceived threat.

Wooton Bassett Police official Hayley Tarling states that drivers need to do their bit if they are to avoid being made a victim of such criminal undertaking.
She said: "It's not enough to hide away expensive items in your glove compartment - motorists must remove them from the car altogether."
This comes as a police official in North Tyneside has attributed a decrease in incidents in the region to "good quality police work", reports News Guardian.
Detective Inspector Paul Young states that "crime is down in the North Tyneside area and detections are increasing", the publication adds.
